Every so often, I come across a home that just grows on me. Between the broker’s tour and client showings, I ended up visitng 61 Wessex Way in San Carlos several times this week. Usually, the more times I see a home, the more flaws I tend to pick up (reality sets in, basically.) But the opposite happens with this place, at least for me — the more I see it, the more I like it.
I know it’s hard to believe from the picture, since it looks like your standard-issue rancher. But it has a ton of positives going for it.
- Location: It’s on a cul-de-sac with lots of updated homes, so the traffic is minimal and the expansion possibilities are endless.
- Home: The home is in great condition and has a surprisingly clean layout, with an updated kitchen and two car garage. It just has a nice feel to it.
- Yard: It doesn’t seem like it, but the lot is about 8,700 square feet — and it’s flat! Considering where it’s at in the hills, this is remarkable. I imagine a pool would be a slam dunk in the expansion plans.
- Potential: As I mentioned, Wessex Way is home to numerous 2-story remodels, so adding on to this base down the road would be totally justifiable. A second-story addition to this place would give you killer views. And with the large lot, there’s plenty of room to expand. Not that you’ll need to right away — it’s in move-in condition now.
