Breaking San Carlos School News: Central and Tierra Linda named “California Distinguished Schools”

California Distinguished Schools

It’s A Clean Sweep!

This afternoon, the California Department of Education announced the honorees for the 2009 California Distinguished School Awards for the middle and high school level.   The San Carlos School District scored a monumental victory when both of its middle schools, Central Middle School and Tierra Linda Middle School, were announced as winners.   A huge and well deserved congratulations to all of the teachers at Central and TL, as well as the administration of the school district for this incredible achievement!

A Select Class…

Of the scores of eligible middle schools AND high schools in all of San Mateo County,  only seven received this prestigious award…and two of those seven are right here in San Carlos.     Here’s the complete list of honorees, listed by their respective county: Click here –> 2009 Distinguished Middle and High Schools

Any doubts about Measure B?

If there are any lingering doubts about the impact of school funding initiatives such as  San Carlos Measure B, hopefully this will make believers out of you.  There’s simply no way these awards would be possible without the combination of a great group of teachers, and the funds to enable them to teach at the highest level.    And you’d better believe this news will not be missed by those home buyers who are weighing San Carlos versus other cities as to where they will buy their next home.   That’s why it’s so critical that Measure B passes.

Congratulations, Central and Tierra Linda!!
