1125 Rosewood Avenue, San Carlos

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a post entitled First Time Buyers:  Top 5 Features to look for when you tour a home.  The purpose of this post was to help  buyers keep focused on a handful of key features that will likely be important to have in that first home.    Why?  When you first walk into a home,  it's quite easy to get overwhelmed with all of the furniture, decorations, and “newness” of the home.  That's the whole purpose of  staging is a home — to appeal to the subjective side of your brain, not the objective.

As I was writing this post, one particular property kept popping up in my mind, because it scored pretty well on all five of these qualities:  1125 Rosewood Avenue in San Carlos.   It's currently listed at $879,000 by Justine Ford of RE/MAX Today.  Here are those key points, and how this home stacks up in each area:

#1:  Master Suite.

It's one of the first things I look for, and this home has a nice one.  The master bedroom is ideally situated in the rear of the home, to ensure privacy.

#2:  Lot Size and Situation.

The home is situated ideally on this lot — the garage is in the very front, which provides a nice buffer from the street, yet there's still plenty of usable space in the back yard.  How the home sits on this lot is important, because we're dealing with 4,800 square feet — about average by White Oaks standards.

#3 The Street.

Rosewood is a great street, no matter which part you're on.   This is the last block of Rosewood before it T's into Greenwood  (it picks up again between Howard and Belmont Avenues) so there shouldn't be a tremendous amount of through-traffic.  This block gets you into the White Oaks School district, yet you're still only a block from Burton Park…and the ever-popular north section of Laurel makes for a good afternoon stroll.

#4 Garage.

Namely, a two-car garage.  This one has it, complete with internal entry to the home.

#5  Furnace.

No circa-1940's floor furnace in this home.  It's already set up with a nice forced-air furnace.   This may not seem like a big deal, but you'll thank me when the winds kick up like they did the other night.

More?

There are some other great features to this home that should appeal to first-time buyers:   It has 3 bedrooms, an updated kitchen, and it's very clean throughout.   It's the kind of home you can move into without needing to touch anything for quite some time.  And THAT'S what first-time buyers seem to be looking for these days.
