2010 “San Carlos Hometown Days” Kicks Off Tonight.

May 21, 2010

30th Anniversary of a Tradition.

Tonight marks the opening of this year's edition of a long-standing annual San Carlos tradition:  San Carlos Hometown Days.   In fact, this year will be the 30th anniversary of what is arguably the most popular community event held in this town.   A whole weekend of music, fun, and food is on tap for all — and the weather looks like it will be absolutely perfect for the festivities.

All of your favorites will return this year — the Saturday morning parade, the Rotary Fun-Run, the pancake breakfast…and so much more.  And tonight, the tradition of kicking off Hometown Days on a musical note continues as the San Carlos Educational Foundation presents “SCEF Celebrates Music“.   Starting at 5:00 this evening on the main stage at the athletic field at Burton Park, your middle school band students from Central and Tierra Linda will impress the daylights out of you with their musical prowess.    I believe San Carlos has one of the best school musical programs on the entire Peninsula, and you'll get to see it on display tonight.

So come out and enjoy the festivities — there's something for everyone at the San Carlos Hometown Days.  For a complete schedule of events, check out their website at San Carlos Hometown Days.
