Home (and Family) Needed.
I just got word of this plight from one of my colleagues in the real estate industry, and wanted to pass it along to the readers of the White Oaks Blog. If you are interested in housing these children or helping out in any way, please contact Debra Lepold directly at the number below. Or, if you know of someone who may be able to help, feel free to pass along this information.
Hopefully, someone will be able to step forward and help these kids during this tough time and keep them in this area and in their current school. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! Here’s more information on their situation:
Two San Carlos School District students are in need of a foster home. The children are currently living in a temporary group home and their time has run out at this placement. Because there is a shortage of foster homes in San Mateo County, the kids will be moved to San Jose. This means they will not be able to continue at their current school. The boy (age 12) and girl (age 11) attend Tierra Linda Middle School, in San Carlos and are doing very well there. They are sweet kids with no behavior problems. Because of what they have been through, they do receive special education services and the staff at the school have done a fantastic job in moving them forward academically. Their social worker does not want them to change schools because this could set them back.
We are on the hunt for a loving home in San Carlos, or in San Mateo County. If the placement is outside San Carlos, we would like to find foster parents who would be willing to drive the kids to school. Please send this request out to the people you know who care about kids. If we find someone who is not alicensed foster parent, it may be possible to get them licensed quickly.
Thanks for your help.
