Important, but Hard to Find Info.

Whether you are seriously shopping for a home or just a curious next-door neighbor to a recently sold home, finding out what price a home actually sold for in San Carlos is still one of the most elusive pieces of data to find — even despite the plethora of information that's available on most real estate websites.   Do you think that information is pretty useful for a buyer that's about to make an offer on a similar house in the same neighborhood?  How about if you're thinking about re-financing your own home?  You bet — and that's why I have carved out several places on the White Oaks Blog (and other linked sites) where you can find just that information.

The Weekly Report.

Every weekend, I post the latest installment of The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review Series.   In this weekly post, I list which homes closed escrow during the past week (with their sales prices), as well as all of the new listings and pending sales in San Carlos.   There's also some basic data analysis on home prices, days on the market (DOM), and pending sales in San Carlos.  But for the aforementioned reason, this weekly post is always the most widely read article on the blog every week – by a huge margin.

Facebook and Twitter.

As popular as the Weekly Report series is, the main drawback is that it's only published once per week.   This means that some of the data on homes sales is as much as a week old — and in the world of San Carlos real estate, a week can be an eternity.   Enter the world of social media…

Facebook and Twitter are ideal vehicles to post sales data almost as it happens, which makes them a perfect complement to the blog.   So  during the course of each day, I post the final sales price on homes that closed escrow that day in San Carlos, as well as broadcast which homes changed from “Active” to “Pending” on the MLS.   At the end of the week, all of these data points are gathered together to comprise the Weekly Report.

I post the sold and pending data simultaneously on both Facebook and Twitter, so you can choose whichever platform you're more comfortable with.  If Facebook is your preference,  follow the White Oaks Blog on Facebook.  If Twitter is your pick,  you can follow the White Oaks Blog tweets at @WhiteOaksBlog.  Either way, you'll have your bases covered.

Aside from fresh sales data, I also post interesting articles about San Carlos on both of these feeds, so it's definitely worth your while to follow!
