The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 10/31/2016.

Happy Halloween, San Carlos!! Buyers were definitely the story this week in the local real estate market. Despite the inclement weather and the shortening days, home buyers took 9 homes into contract this week, which is a pretty strong number for this time of year. But despite the large overall number, it's interesting to note that it takes longer for houses to get into contract this time of year. Unlike the Spring market when you can have sufficient interest to take offers after only one open house weekend, it often takes 2-3 weekends of showings before the right buyer is found. Home buyers are simply more distracted during the fall, with school activities, weekend sports, and of course, the approaching holidays. But they are definitely still out there.

As we say goodbye to October today and head into November, it will be interesting to see how much these factors will impact what has been a surprisingly steady pace in San Carlos.
