The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 4/24/2017.

The tsunami of new listings that San Carlos home buyers were hoping for may have finally happened last week. Compared to a normal week in San Carlos, the floodgates literally opened up and and we witnessed the biggest single-week surge of new listings for all of 2017 with 11 homes hitting the market during that span. This provided a bumper crop of open houses to see over the weekend, as the inventory pushed up to 18 homes for sale in the city. That’s still well below average by historical standards, but it’s 70%-80% higher than what we’ve seen on a consistent basis so far in 2017.

I expect that the surge of listings is going to continue for the next few weeks — maybe not quite at the clip of last week, but definitely at a higher pace than normal. There are still quite a few more homes that are being prepped to hit the market before we hit the end of May, so keep close tabs on your homes-for-sale list in San Carlos in the coming weeks.
