2620 Debbie Place: The Epitome of California Living.

San Carlos has a lot of things to offer when it comes to homes, streets, and locations. But one thing it doesn't have many of is cul-de-sacs. The venerable cul-de-sac harkens back to the 1950's and 60's in Southern California, when entire neighborhoods were generated as planned communities and subdivisions, and these short dead-end streets became super popular. Since San Carlos slowly evolved from east to west over the 1900's, there very few of these special streets created in the city, which is a bit of a shame. These streets are popular because they eliminate through traffic, enhance safety, and most important they help foster a tighter sense of community with the neighbors. It's a common checklist item for many of the buyers that I place in San Carlos.

That's why I am so thrilled to announce my latest San Carlos listing at 2620 Debbie Place. Not only is this fabulous home located on a highly coveted and rare cul-de-sac, but it's located in the perfect spot at the very end of the street, which is usually THE most desired parcel. Debbie Place is a very special neighborhood, where everybody seems to know everybody on a first name basis and the turnover is extremely low.  In fact the last house on Debbie Place to hit the market was almost 7 years ago… So this neighborhood is tight.

2620 Debbie Place is also special because it has only had one owner in its entire existence, and this is the first time it has ever been on the market. Built in 1965, the same family has lovingly owned this home since.  Kids were raised and memories were made in this home.

One of the benefits of being at the end of the cul-de-sac is that you get an abnormally large yard.  2620 Debbie Place sits on a massive 9,000 square foot lot, which is much larger than the typical San Carlos yard.  The home features 3 spacious bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms in a very intelligently designed layout. There's even a large formal living room, which affords a great place to entertain or just relax.  But when you think about outdoor California living, this is where this house really shines. The huge kitchen/famiy room combo opens up to a huge deck and in-ground pool. You can just see summer parties happening in this house.

The home was built originally with gorgeous random-plank oak hardwood floors, which have been hidden by carpeting for decades. But these have been restored to their original lustre, and they add touch of elegance to the home.

The two car garage is also much larger than a normal two car garage, allowing you plenty of space for storage and even a full workbench.  If that's not enough, there's a nice little cottage in back that could easily serve as an art studio or a workshop.  This home has it all, yet still has room for you to put your own stamp on it.

Once you're in, just let your cursor take you through every inch of this wonderful home!

I will be holding 2620 Debbie Place open on both Saturday and Sunday of this coming weekend from 1-4PM. Make sure to get by and see it soon.  This is a rare opportunity to live on not only a rare cul-de-sac, but also one of the most coveted streets in the Alder Manor neighborhood of San Carlos!  Don't miss the chance to make this one yours…
