The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 6/5/2017.

Buyers picked up right where they left off before the Memorial Day weekend in San Carlos.  During the shortened week, 5 homes went into contract and 6 new listings replaced them on the market.  That notched the net inventory up to 15 homes for sale in the city. The prices for sold homes remained very strong, with the average $/sq foot remaining above $1,000 for the third consecutive week while selling at nearly 9% above the asking price.

Activity should remain brisk for the next few weeks as the spring market starts to wind down and we head into the historically slower days of summer.  The 4th of July weekend traditionally marks the transition into the summer real estate market, when you should expect to see the pace of listings and sales drop off noticeably. Until then, home sellers who have yet to get their homes on the market should be working overtime to catch this window of opportunity
