The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 8/28/2017.

The vacation portion of the summer months is drawing to a close as we head into the Labor Day weekend.  This was traditionally the start of the fall real estate market, although that date has begun to inch forward on the calendar as schools seem to start back a little earlier every year.  Despite the 4 new listings that hit the market this week, inventory for single-family homes in San Carlos remains extremely tight with only 11 homes to choose from. Worse yet for buyers, a full 1/3 of the active listings have been on the market for 3 weeks or longer, so in reality there’s even less “fresh” inventory to choose from.

The condo and townhouse market was uncharacteristically quiet last week as well.  Only one unit went into contract, and there were no closed sales nor new listings to report.  Perhaps this is just the last of the lazy days of summer? We will certainly know how the fall market is going to shake out soon enough…
