San Carlos by the Numbers.
I’ve been a homeowner in San Carlos much longer than I’ve been a Realtor in San Carlos. One thing I noticed years ago was that it was virtually impossible for the average person to find any key information about the local real estate market — what price a home sold for, how many homes have sold, average sales price, and so on. That data simply wasn’t available to the general public. You could wait a month after a sale closed in hopes that it would be published in the local newspaper. But how was the typical buyer or seller in San Carlos supposed to understand what was truly happening in this market?
The White Oaks Blog was created in 2007 with the solution to that problem in squarely in mind. While you’ll find lots of good articles in this site about the City of San Carlos and the various things that make this City so unique, the heart and soul of this blog is real estate data — and lots of it.
Every Monday, you’ll find a concise summary of what happened in the San Carlos market the previous week in the Real Estate Week in Review series. From sold prices, to new listings, to the homes that just went pending, it’s all there in one information-packed post, for both single family homes and condos. It’s easily the most popular article on the blog every week.
If that weekly post was the only data that you could find on this site, it would still be a tremendously valuable tool for home buyers and sellers. But it’s really the tip of the iceberg. Throughout the year, I mine real estate data in San Carlos from every conceivable angle — from micro-neighborhood trends to specific home configurations, with the intent of giving you a better idea what’s happening in the local market.
Raw data without analysis is just…numbers. So many other real estate sites will inundate you with charts and graphs, with absolutely no explanation what the numbers actually mean. I draw from my experience as a 25-year resident of San Carlos and one of the only technically-degreed Realtors to tell you the story behind the data that I post on the site.

Who Am I?
Since I became a San Carlos-focused Realtor in 2007, I have been consistently ranked in the top 5 of agents serving the San Carlos market. In 2015, I was the #4 ranked individual agent in total sales volume for San Carlos homes. Along with my business partner Bob Bredel, we were far and away the top sales team servicing the San Carlos market in 2015!
I have been a resident of the San Francisco Peninsula for the past 51 years…long before the term “Silicon Valley” was coined. For the past 27 years, I have lived in San Carlos and as you can tell from my posts, I am very passionate about this little town. I think San Carlos is one of the greatest places on the planet — that’s why I live in here, and why I love to share what I know about it with you.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and I proudly bring 20+ years of successful high-tech sales experience to the real estate field. I also believe in giving back to the community that I call home. When I’m not helping people buy and sell homes, you might find me on a local soccer field as a volunteer referee for San Carlos AYSO.
