Summer Music in San Carlos and Redwood City.
June 27, 2018
If you like live outdoor music and you're sticking around the area for most of this summer, then there are a lot of good local options for you to pull up a lawn chair and take in some great bands. The best part is that it's all free. You can't beat that price!
San Carlos Music in the Park
Starting Friday July 6th and running until August 10, San Carlos will kick off the 28th season of its popular summer concert series. Taking place at the bandstand at northwest corner of Burton Park (at the intersection of Cedar Street and Arroyo Avenue), there will be 6 shows taking place on consecutive Fridays. There is a decent sized lawn area to park your chair, but get there early and save yourself a spot, because all of the prime viewing spots tend to fill up quickly.
Below is the schedule of bands for this summer:

Redwood City Summer Concerts
Not to be outdone, Redwood City has a couple of its own very popular free summer concert venues, and both have actually already started!
The Redwood City Music in the Park (above) runs every Wednesday evening at Stafford Park (Hopkins Avenue, between King and Lowell) until August 22nd, with shows running from 6:00-8:00 PM. They offer a great variety of music this year, including rock, Latin, funk, and blues. Click here for the line up of bands for this summer.
And finally, the biggest show of all three is the Redwood City Music on the Square. This super popular event takes place on the square in front of the historic Redwood City Courthouse on Broadway in Redwood City. The shows run every Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM through August 31. Because of the size of this venue and the quality of the sound system, they are able to book some noteworthy bands every year. This event is always packed, and anytime you put live music into a bustling downtown Friday night environment, you know that fun is going to be had! Click here for the list of bands that are playing at Music on the Square this summer.
So no matter what your music tastes may be, you have lots of options to take in some great, free music this summer. Enjoy!!!
