An Amazing San Carlos Story…
September 9, 2009
It's all about people…
Last week, I wrote a post entitled “What's ‘Good' about the City of Good Living” where I briefly talked about the top 5 reasons that people choose to live in San Carlos. One of these reasons people choose to live here is simply because of the people who live here. Those who live in San Carlos already know that this is a genuinely caring community.
But this story is in this morning's San Jose Mercury is simply amazing, and it highlights how people in San Carlos rally around friends and neighbors in need. Read this story: San Carlos woman focuses on positive after being struck by car.
It has happened before..
Sadly, I know of a number of occasions in the past few years where tragedy or hardship has befallen a San Carlos family — but each and every time, the community has jumped into action without hesitation to help these families. What happened with the Cohen's in this situation is so amazing, yet in other ways it so “San Carlos”. And how the Cohen family has handled their adversity is truly inspirational.
Forget about schools, downtown, weather, etc… It's really the people that make this town so great.

I couldn’t agree more. After having lived in a few other cities on the peninsula, we’ve found San Carlos to be amazing when it comes to the quality of people we meet on a weekly basis. We’ll stay here as long as possible 🙂
Shaun Bishop forwarded your comments to us. It was very touching to read. It is indeed a small community where if you don’t know someone, the odds are you have someone in common. We’ve only been in the community 8 years and I can’t imagine what that “net” will look like 20, 30 years on. It is indeed an integral piece of the puzzle that has allowed us to move through this experience.
Sincerely,
Rob Cohen
