Heather Elementary School Lands $5,000 Grant from Lowe’s.

A New Playground.
Each year, Lowe's Home Improvement Center donates over $5 million to nearly 1,000 public schools across the nation as part of their “Toolbox for Education” program. The Lowe's Charitable Education Foundation has made the money available each year for the past 5 years for school projects, and they've made it really easy for teachers or parent-groups to apply for a grant online through their website.
This year's winners were announced in the Mercury News yesterday, and Heather Elementary School in San Carlos was one of the winners as it landed a $5,000 grant which will be used to help build a new playground at the school. A huge thanks to Lowe's for their generosity in supporting public schools, and kudos to the folks at Heather for snagging that much needed funding.
Now, if we could only get Lowe's to open up shop close by to give the Home Depot some badly needed competition… but that's a rant for another day.
