Coats for Kids in San Carlos.

December 9, 2011

Coats Needed for Kids.

Are your closets packed with coats that your family has simply outgrown, or are not wearing because they're simply out of style?   You hate to throw them away because they're in good condition, but having a garage sale is a giant pain in the rear.   Well, how would you  like a very convenient way to get that closet space back while doing a great deed at the same time?

The City of San Carlos, in conjunction with Recology San Mateo County, have announced a really worthwhile program that accomplishes both:  Coats for Kids.   The concept is really simple — during the week of 12/12, you bring those new or gently used coats that you're no longer using down to a convenient drop-off points in San Carlos, or leave them on the curb on your designated pick-up day.  Recology and the City of San Carlos take care of getting those coats into the hands of needy families.   It couldn't be any easier!

How to Participate.

San Carlos residents can participate in the program by placing gently used or new coats in a clear plastic bag, labeled “Coats for Kids”.  Place the bag on top of or next to the blue Recycle Cart on your regular collection day during the week of December 12 (next week).

If it's easier, coats can also be donated in San Carlos at one of these two drop-off locations from 8:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday:

San Carlos City Hall
600 Elm Street

or,

Recology San Carlos Office
225 Shoreway Road

So clear out those closets, and help out families in need over the holidays!!
