The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 9/5/2016.

Happy Labor Day, San Carlos! As vacationers enjoy the last 3-day weekend of the summer, home sellers are gearing up to get their homes on the market while weather is good and there's still plenty of daylight. Labor Day historically marks the beginning of the Fall real estate market, even though the vast majority of kids are already back in school. If the tradition of past years holds true, there should be a significant bump in new listings all along the Peninsula over the next 14 days.  This will be a welcome relief for home buyers who are intent on finding a place before the holidays, but have yet to find anything that wows theme with the current inventory. For sellers whose homes have been on the market for awhile, this will not be good news. Just like we saw back in the March-April timeframe of 2016, a sudden uptick in inventory has an adverse effect on the desirability of the “fringe” homes — those that are challenged in the area of price, condition, and/or location. It should be a very interesting couple of weeks.
