The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 2/6/2017.

Although the numbers below may not totally reflect it, home buyers are hitting the San Carlos market with a renewed ferocity that we haven't seen since about this time last year. What few open houses that we've had so far have been very well attended, and the homes that you've seen below that have changed over to “pending” will close at some pretty eye-popping prices. This is due in large part to the fact that there are simply not enough homes for sale to balance out the demand, and that is the primary reason why home prices continue to rise.
Interest rates have risen in the past few weeks, which negatively impacts some home buyers. But the stock market has also been unstoppable during the same period of time, as we witnessed it crush the 20,000 point mark for the first time in history. So despite these conflicting forces at play, home buyers appear to be getting stronger in this market, not weaker.
