San Carlos Summer Wine Stroll — Sunday, June 11.
June 9, 2017
Fun, Part II.
Back in December of 2016, the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce (on which I serve as a Board Member) hosted the first ever San Carlos Wine Stroll. The premise was pretty basic — get a number of Chamber Member businesses to each host a specific winery, and create a fun and festive atmosphere in downtown San Carlos for people to socialize and sample some new wines. For a single nominal fee, consumers got a glass wine, a wristband, and a map of all the wine stations. From there, they were able to stroll to any of the wine stations and sample as much or as little wine as they wished and enjoy the appetizers that the host companies provided. We had over 20 wineries eager to sign up, and an equal number of businesses willing to host them.
Without any historical precedence to draw from, we had no idea what kind of turnout to expect when we held the first event in December, so our estimates were on the conservative side. By the end of that day over 500 people participated in the event, which was easily double what we were expecting, making the day a huge success. San Carlos definitely loves its wines!
So rather than wait a full year until the next event, we decided to host a mid-year version of the Wine Stroll so that we could take advantage of the warm weather and the sunshine! So this Sunday, June 11, we will host the San Carlos Summer Wine Stroll from 1-5PM in downtown San Carlos. For the summer edition, we have 22 wineries ready to show off their goods! See the flyer below for all of the details.
You can register in advance by clicking here, or you can simply show up on Saturday to buy your ticket. I will be working the ticket booth again — hope to see you there!!
