San Carlos City Council Endorsement: John McDowell
November 4, 2018
Vote!
There are only a few days left until the very critical election takes place, not only on nationwide and statewide issues, but also right here in San Carlos. Three City Council seats will be changing in this election, which will have a dramatic impact on the future direction of the Council. The second of my three recommendations for City Council is John McDowell.
A Great San Carlos Fit.
John is what one might call a rarity lately in San Carlos — a “lifer”. It's becoming more rare to find people in San Carlos that actually grew up in San Carlos, but John is definitely one of them. Having attended Brittan Acres, Tierra Linda, and then San Carlos High School (yes, we once had a high school!!), John has lived the City of Good Living dream his entire life and I think that is an important element to have when you're looking to manage the direction of the City — know where the City is going, but also respect where it came from.
Like the other candidate that I have already endorsed, John has a strong business and political background, which I believe is essential for stepping into what will be a very new City Council. I have been on enough boards and to know that even the basic function of a Council is something that takes time to get accustomed to, and this Council will have a very short runway to get airborne.
Check out John's bio here, and be sure to get out and vote on Tuesday!
