The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 2/25/2019.

Despite a fair amount of buying activity last week, the number of homes for sale in San Carlos this week remains just about the same.  As of this morning, there are only 17 single-family homes and 4 condos/townhouses for sale in the entire city.  As we finish up the last week of February and head into March, it's expected that the pace of new listings should pick up (if history is any indication.)

Mortgage interest rates continue to remain surprisingly low, considering that just a few weeks ago we were expecting to see a steady climb upward.   I have seen instances where buyers are getting at or below 4% for a 30-year fixed mortgage, and even less for a 10/1 adjustable rate. This is a big reason why so many buyers are active in the market right now, and that the open houses were so busy this weekend.
