San Carlos First-Time Home Buyer Workshop: October 30.
October 8, 2019
A Leg Up for First-Time Buyers.
First-time home buyers are painfully aware how difficult it is to save up enough money to succeed in this ultra-competitive and expensive local housing market. With most institutions requiring a minimum down payment of 20%, and home prices continuing to climb in most areas, this has become the biggest hurdle to home ownership for many — even ahead of the actual mortgage payments. This chasm has increased the visibility and popularity of companies like Unison who offer unique and creative plans to help prospective buyers secure the necessary funds to make that first purchase possible.
Along those lines, the Housing Endowment and Regional Trust (HEART) of San Mateo County and Meriwest Mortgage have put together a program that offers down payment assistance for first time home buyers in San Mateo County, whereby they can buy a home with only 5% down and no PMI. This program covers market rate homes/townhouses/condos anywhere in the County with a value up to $908,156.
HEART and Meriwest are hosting a free workshop to discuss the details of this new program, and it will be held in San Carlos on October 30 at 6:00 PM at the San Carlos Library. All of the details of the workshop, as well as a registration link, can be found by clicking here.
If you're a first-time home buyer who has been looking for a boost to get into this market, this workshop should be well worth your time. Be sure to click on the link above and register early!
