Many San Carlos Restaurants are Open.
If there is a silver lining to the current state of affairs in our state, it's that the shelter in place is forcing many people to do more cooking at home. In an economy that runs at such a breakneck pace, it's refreshing for many families to be able to take this gift of extra time and bond over a great meal at home together.
That being said, there is a point where enough is enough! Even the most enthusiastic chefs need a night or two off, so it's good to know that many of our restaurants are still available to help. The shelter in place has had a crippling effect on our local restaurants, and the ones that have not closed outright have rapidly shifted their business to a take-out model just so that they can stay afloat. It's important in this time of need to support our great eating establishments.
The City of San Carlos has an outstanding section of their website that is dedicated to providing the public with timely COVID-19 updates. This includes links to relevant news releases, FAQ's and other timely information. You can access that site by clicking here.
Within that section, there is also an active list of San Carlos stores and restaurants that are still open during the shelter in place. This list is updated continuously by the City of San Carlos as business owners add or drop their names from the list. Below, I have extracted a sub-list (with permission from the City) of the San Carlos restaurants that are remaining open and providing to-go services during the shutdown. Since the City updates this list real-time, I'd recommend checking the aforementioned link for the latest info.
So as we approach the weekend, consider ordering takeout from one of our many great restaurants. You'll be giving your in-home chef a much needed break, and you'll also be supporting some great eating establishments who could really use the business.
