San Carlos Hometown Days is Postponed.
April 14, 2020
Victim of Covid-19.
The most recent two years have not been kind to the San Carlos Hometown Days Festival. Last year, this very popular event was cut short by a freak, late-spring rain storm that hit just after the completion of the Saturday morning parade and continued throughout the weekend, forcing the organizers to cancel the vast majority of the weekend's events — much to the chagrin of residents and vendors alike.
This year marks the 40th anniversary Hometown Days, and it's once again taking a hit. This time, the coronavirus pandemic has forced the organizers to move the date from its perennial mid-May slot out until August.
The new date for Hometown Days is August 28-30, which will obviously be conditional on getting approval from the various governing bodies to host a gathering of this size in what we hope will be a “post virus” environment. Updates will be posted on the Hometown Days website, so check back to see if anything has changed. I'll be sure to post the same.
Stay healthy, everyone!
