Outdoor Dining is Key to Recovery.

The first week of expanded al fresco dining in San Carlos is almost in the books, and the new arrangement appears to be very popular with the dining crowd.  Since Laurel Street has been temporarily closed, restaurants and stores have been able to expand their business out into the street to enable them to serve more customers.  From the crowds that have been spotted on the north stretch of Laurel, it's pretty evident that residents were more than ready to get out of the house and get back to dining out.

The news media was keenly interested in the new dining arrangement that was fast-tracked through the City Council:
