The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 8/30/21

The Recap.
Activity simmered somewhat last week in San Carlos, with only 3 homes being put into contract and 6 homes to replace them in the inventory (including an impressive $5M home on Clifford Avenue). That's not to imply that buyers are not out in force — the open houses seemed to be very well attended and two of the three homes that went pending last week had multiple strong offers.
Listing activity should start to pick up as we exit the final week of August and head into Labor Day weekend. That is the traditional kickoff of the fall real estate market, and should initiate two solid months of sales activity. There are only 16 homes for sale in the entire city starting this week, so any increase in inventory would be a welcome change for those San Carlos buyers.
