Moving From San Carlos? Lean on Me.
April 27, 2023
It Can Be Intimidating.
As much as San Carlos is an awesome place to live, there are times when people need to pack up and move out of town. It could be that they are downsizing, retiring, moving to be closer to their families, or being relocated for work. Whatever the reason is, packing your entire life into box and pulling up root is a very daunting experience — and the longer you've lived in the same home, the more daunting it will be.
Not only do you have to tidy up your affairs here before you leave, but you also need to coordinate where and how you're going to land at your destination — all the while maintaining your regularly scheduled day-to-day life.
Lean on me. I can help.
It's More Than Just Selling the House.
Selling your home is only one part of the moving puzzle, albeit a big part. You also need to purge what you're not taking, pack what you are, and find someone to get your stuff from Point A to Point B. At your destination, you'll need to know where you're going to live and how you're going to live there (rent vs buy).
Ask anyone who has done it. It's an overwhelming experience. What you many not know is that I can help you with a lot of these tasks, especially if you have no idea where to turn. Here are just some of things that I can help you with, even if I'm not selling your home:
- Purging: We are all collectors of “stuff” in this country. It's just in our culture. The longer you've lived in your home, the more stuff you probably have accumulated and should definitely weed through before you move, especially if you haven't used it in a long time. Marie Kondo is wealthy for a reason. No matter what you plan to do with the items that aren't making the trip, I can help. If you have items of value that can be sold, I have an outstanding estate sale pro that can help you make some money for your items and keep them out of the landfill. They will sell what they can, donate what they can't sell, and dump what can't be sold or donated.
- Packing and Moving: Once you decide what stays and what goes, you need to line up who is going to move you. I have several trusted moving companies that have successfully transported many of my clients to their new digs. I've moved people as short as a few blocks in San Carlos, to as far as all the way across the country. In addition to just moving you, these companies can also box and pack everything for you (including antiques and valuables), and they can even store your belongings securely off-site until you are ready to move.
- Lining up Your Next Place: Whether you are buying a new home or just renting in your new neighborhood, I have an extensive network of awesome Realtors in every metropolitan area that can make your landing smooth.
- Your Old Home: It doesn't matter if you own your current home or are renting it — you have a bunch of things you need to do to prepare it for the new occupants. Need something fixed? Does the place need a deep cleaning? Do you need help renting or selling your home? I've got you covered here as well.
The Bottom Line.
Uprooting your life in San Carlos and moving anywhere is a BIG challenge. It doesn't matter to me whether you own your current home or are just renting — I'm happy to leverage my network of professionals to help you out! All you need to do is reach out.
