The Recap:
Low inventory continues to be the key topic in the local real estate market. There were only four new listings that entered the market last week, so that didn't push the needle any more to the right since there are still only nine single-family homes in San Carlos to purchase as of this morning. On top of that, only one home closed escrow last week, which means there has only been one sale to close in San Carlos in the past three weeks!
In past years, sellers would purposely wait until after the Super Bowl to list their homes for sale. This was especially true if there was a local team playing, as there was yesterday. It remains to be seen if that will happen this year. But with a continued imbalance like this between buyers and available homes to purchase, it goes without saying that this is an ideal time to put a house on the market.
