New San Carlos Listing: 161 Glasgow Lane
October 11, 2024
A San Carlos Unicorn.
If you're at all familiar with homes in San Carlos, then you'll know that finding a impeccably maintained home that has jaw-dropping unobstructed views of the San Francisco Bay, AND has a spacious flat yard, AND is located in a extremely desirable neighborhood with top-ranked schools is akin to finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
That's why I believe you'll absolutely love my newest San Carlos listing at 161 Glasgow Lane in the San Carlos Highlands neighborhood. Let's talk about all of those key points above:
The Home.
161 Glasgow Lane is a spotlessly clean 2,500 sq foot home that features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, all situated on an equally spotless 8,000 square foot lot. You'll sense the pride of ownership the minute you step into the front door, because it's one on of the cleanest and best maintained of the 100+ homes that I've listed in San Carlos.

White-washed bamboo wood flooring graces most of the downstairs. The kitchen has been remodeled and shares the same jaw-dropping views (more on that below) of the bay. The cavernous primary suite is located upstairs along with two other bedrooms, and is also perfectly situated to take in the amazing sights.

The layout of this home is tremendously functional, and includes all of the traditional rooms that most buyers still desire. The formal dining area is adjacent to the living room and enjoys soaring ceilings with lots of windows. The family room shares the same space at the rear of the house as the family room, and there's even a cozy dining nook just off the kitchen for those less formal dining nights. Laundry is conveniently located inside, and the completely finished 3-car garage is equipped for a Level 1 EV charger.

Everything in this home is in exactly the right spot.
The View.
The entire San Carlos Highlands neighborhood has always been a oasis in the hills because it's situated on a level bluff that used to be the home of San Carlos High School. But only a handful of the homes in this neighborhood enjoy stunning, unobstructed views of the San Francisco Bay and the East Bay hills, and those homes are all on the view side of Glasgow Lane — just like 161 Glasgow.
Even more significant is that this home is one of only 16 homes that border the 2.5 acres of dedicated open space in the canyon below — not all of the homes on Glasgow have this privilege. What does this mean? It means that nothing can be built on the land directly behind this home, so the views will always remain sublime and unobstructed.

Finding a home anywhere in San Carlos with a flat yard and gorgeous bay views is already tough enough. Finding one in this neighborhood is nearly impossible.
The Location.
As I mentioned above, the San Carlos Highlands neighborhood stands where San Carlos High School used to, so this neighborhood enjoys the close proximity to Highlands Park. There you will find multiple tennis courts, sprawling athletic fields, and a convenient jogging path around the park.

One of the least known secrets in San Carlos is that the Halloween celebration in the Highlands Park neighborhood probably rivals the turnout that you'll see on Eucalyptus Avenue in the flats. Yep, this has become a must-stop on the Halloween circuit because it's such a safe and welcoming neighborhood.
And speaking of schools, this home is situated in one of the most sought-after public school combinations: Heather Elementary, Tierra Linda Middle, and Carlmont High Schools (of course, you should verify the enrollment rules to your satisfaction).
Don't Miss Out!
Be sure to come see this home over the weekend of October 12th and 13th. The preliminary interest level is already very high for this home, so I expect we'll be looking at offers on Thursday October 17, so don't wait too long to see if before it is gone.
Want to see more: Click on the virtual tour, where you'll see amazing drone photos, a full cinematic video, and a 3D Matterport scan of the entire home. It's all there, but nothing does more justice than walking in the front door and taking in all of the goodness in person.
I hope to see you this weekend! Feel free to contact me directly if you prefer a private tour.
