The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 03/10/25

The Recap:
The buying activity continued at a robust pace last week in the San Carlos residential real estate market. Six homes were put under contract, while five more homes took their place on active roster. Overall inventory remains low with only 15 single-family homes for sale.
Looking ahead to this week, the big concern on everyone's mind is not interest rates but the trajectory of the stock market. The market this morning is starting on a significant downward trend for the third straight week, and considering that equities usually comprise a significant component of a typical buyer's purchasing power, it's conceivable that this may start to impact the local real estate market.
The sales activity over the past few weeks hasn't indicated downward pressure as well-priced homes that are priced correctly are still getting multiple offers, but if the stock market continues on this trend it will indeed threaten the vitality of the housing market throughout the Peninsula.
