The San Carlos Real Estate Week in Review: 05/05/25

The Recap:

There's an old saying I like to repeat, probably a little too often. It goes “The days are long, but the years are short”, which requires no explanation when you realize that we're suddenly in the first week of May already. Parents of young children are nodding their heads everywhere.

Every month so far in 2025 has had its own series of challenges and triumphs — so much so, that each month doesn't seem remotely connected to the month before or after. There have been very few “trends” to try to analyze — only wild swings up and down in the buyer and seller activity that makes each month look like it came from a different year. I'll analyze the April market later this week to demonstrate what I'm referring to.

The pace of new listings hitting the market picked up noticeably last week, with 10 new listings jumping into the late-Spring market. This is not a surprise, since anyone who wants a shot at selling while buyers are still in town need to really do so this month before we head into the traditionally slower months of June and July.
