The Recap:

Welcome to the final weekly update of 2025! Although there's very little new business to report from last week (zero new listings or pending sales), and nothing more on tap for this holiday-shortened week, the 2025 real estate market in San Carlos has already outperformed the 2024 market in just about every meaningful metric. I will dive deeper into those numbers at the end of this week in the traditional Year in Review report, but suffice it to say that the market appears to be slowly pulling itself out of the slog that has plagued it for the past two years.

As this is also the final post for 2025, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the loyal readers of the White Oaks Blog. I started this site in 2007 to educate and inform San Carlos residents about their local real estate market from a heavily statistical perspective, since that type of data was very difficult to find for the casual real estate fan. I could't have imagined then that 2,111 posts later, I'd be eagerly kicking off the 19th year of the site.

I'm excited to implement some new topics and categories on the site in 2026, but the same laser-focused, data-driven analyses will always be at the core of this site. If you have any subjects that you'd like covered on the site in the new year, just drop me a note. In the meantime, enjoy the final days of 2025, and we'll see you in the new year!
