The Grand Exodus.

Much has been written about the recent trend of residents calling it quits and leaving the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. Whether it's for lower housing costs, lower taxes, or just to be closer to family, people are leaving the Bay Area in record numbers and the impact is being felt in every community, from lower school enrollment to the declining workforce.

While many of these former Bay Area residents may end up moving somewhere else in California, like Roseville, El Dorado Hills, or the Central Valley, recent data shows that many residents are pulling the plug entirely on the California dream and moving out of the Golden State. It seems like everyone knows someone who has made Nashville, Austin, or Phoenix their new home in recent years.

So when it comes to the nine counties that comprise the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, what city outside of California do you think is the most popular relocation spot for those who opt to leave the state? (I'll give you a clue: The answer for the Bay Area is different that the answer for California as a whole).

Enter your guess in the poll below, and I'll post the correct answer next week!
