The Recap:

Welcome to the first week of June. As expected, the sales activity in the San Carlos real estate market showed a marked drop as we head into the summer real estate season. There were only four new listings that entered the market last week, and an equal number of homes were put under contract. That kept the inventory of homes for sale steady at a lean 19. This isn't atypical for this time of year, but it also doesn't help that home mortgage interest rates are creeping back up again, edging closer to 7% as inflationary fears creep back into the market.

The rapidly escalating price of homes in San Carlos is a common topic that I discuss on this blog. Last week, I posted a quiz to see if you could guess which is now the most expensive neighborhood in San Carlos, based on the data from 2025. If you haven't done so, register your guess here. I'll post the answer later this week on the blog.
